Censer Apple Green

STONE CENSER 香炉 DARK GREEN

An elegant vintage (over 70 years old) Chinese censer 香炉 the stone of dark green apple colour. Stylised dragon head handles on either side. The cover surmounted with a lion dog (Shishi - Shisa). Carved from a sold block of green stone, this type of stone is sometimes referred to as Burmese Jade because of its colour, however, not being an expert on stone / jade etc, I refer the classification / type of stone to the expertise of others.
