Archaic vase
Archaic Vase
A magnificent antique stone vase with cover, late Qing Dynasty early Republic Period.
The cover surmounted with a mythical Qilin, ringed handles on either side carved with archaic designs.
A pear shape body intricately carved with Chilong in archaic style, on opposing sides double ringed dragons. A slightly splayed foot.
The carving absolutely superb as are all the details. The vase and cover are well hollowed. Over 100 years old.
The stone in shades of pale and translucent grey with variegated shades of brown throughout, of good colour and depth.
Not being an expert on any stone / jade etc, I refer the classification of stone to the expertise of others.
Please refer to the images for details as they also form the description.
Depending on your computer monitor / phone / etc colour may vary to actual
