ANTIQUE JAPANESE NETSUKE


A superb ivory netsuke of a large eagle viciously stabbing its beak into the head of one of two terrified monkeys gripped in it talons, an expression of sheer fright on its face. The other monkey desperately trying to escape, both hands scrabbling on the right wing, left leg halfway up the back of the eagle. Mouth open in a silent scream for help. Fine detailed expressive carving.
