MEIJI PERIOD (1867 - 1912)
Kiseruzutsu, the late 1800's.
A superb kiseruzutsu made from staghorn.
Outstanding fine castings in a silver coloured metal, small dragonfly in flight in the upper section.
The lower section a praying mantis ready to strike, both are inlaid into the kiseruzutsu.
Faint traces of gold remaining on the mantis body, an indication that it was once gold plated, worn off through time and usage.
A superb natural aged colour and patina from handling and age. Extremely tactile.
Condition : Some wear , excellent for age.
