A Genuine 1970's Takaoka Nickel Silver Koro ( censer).

A magnificent censer cast using the lost wax process in Japanese nickel silver.
A fierce bearded dragon cast in high relief coiled around the body against background of swirling clouds. A reticulated cover.

Signed underneath: Goshin - Seal Mark .

Known in Japanese as Yougin (洋銀) western silver. This type of metal was first produced in Japan towards the end of Edo Period mid 1800s. In the West this metal is known as Nickel Silver, the composition being 60% Copper, 20% Nickel, 20% Zinc.

Condition: Excellent. No damage. No repairs.
