The actual colour of the lacquer is a beautiful Dark Red, appears lighter in the images.

A superb Red / Cinnabar lacquer vase vintage 1950's
The neck bearing Indian lotus blossoms abounded by tendrils. The double shoulder with scrolling tendrils, interspersed with four flowers. Two large panels on opposing sides with different scenes of peony flowers and rockery, chrysanthemum flowers and rockery.
The foot carved with scrolling tendrils and partially visible blooms
The interior and under the foot enamelled blue.
