The brushpot resembling the trunk of a tree with protruding knot holes, Carved in high relief with peony blossom issuing forth from rockery, buds and leafy foliage, birds seated and flying.
Carved in the style of an old Chinese naturalistic ink painting.

Formerly the property of a Japanese collector - acquired over 40 years ago.
