GNARLED PINE BAMBOO BRUSHPOT
QING PERIOD 1644 to 1911

The colour of this brushpot is : "Dark Brown, varying shades thereof, it appears lighter in the images.
A cylindrical brush pot standing on three feet, the trunk of a large tree with knobbed protrusions.
Naturalistically carved around with the trunk of a gnarled pine tree beside a rocky outcrop, overhanging twisted branches, pine sprays, the rim an undulating chamfered edge .
The base incised with four characters.

Formerly the property of a Japanese collector - acquired over 40 years ago.
